watertower at night

Last night around 1am we finished mixing the album!  Now is the time to share some of the demos around befure putting on the final touches.  Here’s one of the tracks from the album that means the most to me.

‘The Scar’ relates a story of abuse and pain, seen from the outside…

Have a listen to the song and take a moment to try and feel what we’re going for.

Was the mix good?  How did the song make you feel?

Is it something we should be proud of, or do we have more work to do?

I’m really looking forward to hearing your comments.

Listen to ‘The Scar’ (mp3)

So what do you think?

  1. Who in the band wrote the lyrics to “The Scar?”

  2. I liked the start of the song, the voices at the start can be shortened..its slightly lengthier right now.

The electric guitars and vocals are good! I find drums little amiss though. May be its just a mixing or recording issue. Getting too much of snare (or whatever that drum is) than the rest. It can do with some variation.

The most part I liked of the song was the small guitar and drums piece just before vocals kick in.

    Best,

  3. Gotta agree with AG - the voices at the beginning are pretty lengthy…seems like an intro to the intro, so the vocals just start after 1 minute…might feel different on an album, but as a standalone-song, 60secs are ages.

  5. Nice bass lines, they fill completely the sound and really capture the song’s emotion. I like the drum line, it’s got a lot of snares, but this fits the rythm into the vocals and the guitar’s lines… it gives a nice anxiety feel to the song. The guitar has a wonderful arrangement, great riffs, cool fills and a very beautiful solo, nice thing leaving most of the rythm and harmony to the bass. The voices at the intro really are a bit too long, but it doesn’t jeopardizes the overall. now the vocals, I think the feel on the voice is very unique, you guys have personality on this vocalist, the thing is, if you ever listen to a stranger talking about your music, there’s a little bit of soul missing on the chorus, you may try to make the voice more captivating, maybe making the vocal a bit louder and give it more presence somehow… well… that’s it, you have a great sound, keep rockin’ ^^
