bad hair

I’m an engineer, a rookie musician, an armchair philosopher and a really bad soccer player.

I live in Mountain View, the land of Google, one-child interracial families, and students who can afford Stanford but can’t afford Palo Alto rents.  Right now I’m studying for the Engineer degree in Electrical Engineering at Stanford.  (I know - it’s kind of redundant).  I don’t really need another degree, but the theory is I’ll find some idea (or some idea will find me) that will lead to a new business to keep at least some of us employed while all the ‘easy’ jobs go overseas.

Most of my professional experience centers on computer hardware design, but more recently I’ve been studying human computer interfaces, digital audio, medical imaging, and computer vision.  There are a lot of opportunities out there, but so far I’m having trouble telling which ones are research projects and which ones are viable businesses.

For fun I play in a couple of bands, join the occasional game of pick-up soccer, or go on a bike ride.
